Get Your Smile Back

Single-Tooth & Full-Arch Implants

Dental implants are small, screw-shaped titanium rods that function as artificial tooth roots. Implants can be used to restore a single tooth, or to restore a full arch of teeth. Multiple single-tooth implants can be used if you are missing a few of your teeth.

Full-arch implants, in contrast, use a series of 4-6 dental implants to replace all of your teeth. These implants are placed in the upper, lower, or both arches of your teeth. An implant-supported restoration such as a fixed bridge or implant-supported denture can be attached to these teeth to restore your smile.

Understanding Your Options

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implant restorations are prosthetic teeth that are designed to attach to your implant, and restore your smile. For single-tooth implants, a dental crown is usually used. This crown functions just like a real tooth and is crafted to fit into your smile perfectly. In conjunction with the titanium implant, your new tooth will function just like your natural tooth did.

For full-arch implants, the most common implant-supported restorations are fixed dental bridges, such as All-On-Four, and implant-supported dentures. Fixed dental bridges are attached permanently to your full-arch implants, and are not intended to be removed. Implant-supported dentures are removable, but still have a strong hold that is superior to traditional dentures, which are only held in place by friction.

Care & Maintenance

For Dental Implants

Single-tooth implants can be treated just like a natural tooth. Simply brush and floss your teeth normally, and your implant will remain healthy and strong for years to come. Dental implants typically last 30+ years with proper care.

For full-arch implants, care is a bit different. Implant-supported dentures can be treated just like a traditional set of dentures. You should clean your dentures and gums at least once per day with a soft-bristled toothbrush, and soak your dentures overnight in a cleansing solution.

With fixed dental bridges, it is best to use a Waterpik or water flosser twice per day to loosen debris from the bridge, and it is important to floss between the bridge and gums once per day. Rinsing daily with antibacterial mouthwash and cleaning the transition area between your gums and the bridge with a small toothbrush is also recommended.
